Our Philosophy
We believe that the one thing more important than improving your skills is developing the confidence and motivation to want to learn. That's why committed to fostering a low-pressure learning environment through patience, encouragement, and something closer to a peer-to-peer relationship than a student-teacher relationship.
Our Story
I'm Owen, a CPHS class of 2025 graduate, National Merit Finalist, and 1540 SAT scorer. Last year, I started Top Percentile Prep on one simple idea:
As someone who had to study for the SAT myself, it was very clear that most SAT tutors just aren't what students need. Traditional tutors typically haven't taken the test in many years. They can also be difficult to relate to and make tutoring a daunting environment.
I decided to solve this problem by focusing on strategy that actually works on the current SAT, as well as building confidence and motivation through a friendly, patient approach. This has resulted in students seeing incredible score increases in a short amount of time. More importantly, though, is that students have left tutoring feeling more sure of themselves.
